How much does a single UGC video cost?

You can buy one for $30–$250. The better question is what you'll do with it — because the video is the cheap part.

A single UGC video costs anywhere from $30 from a brand-new creator to $250+ from an experienced one. I know because I've bought one — somewhere between $30 and $70, I honestly don't remember, and the fact that the price didn't matter is the entire point of this article.

Here's what happened after I paid: I received a video. And then… nothing happened. No account posted it. No feed carried it. No comments, no views, no learning about whether the angle worked. I owned a file. The video wasn't bad — it just wasn't going anywhere, because I'd bought the one part of UGC that doesn't move on its own.

What the sticker price hides

Everyone negotiates the video price. Nobody prices the distribution. But distribution is the product — a video that isn't posted is inventory. UGC is never just one thing: the content has to be made, and posted, and pushed into a feed, and iterated on when the data comes back. Buy a single video and you've paid for step one of four, and steps two through four are where every view lives.

What you'll be quoted (the menu for the wrong meal)

Line itemTypical quote
Base video, new creator$30–$100
Base video, experienced creator$150–$250+
Extra hook variants$20–$50 each
Ad usage rights+30–50% of base
Raw footage+$50–$100

These are real numbers from a real market, and if you have your own distribution — a serious ad account you feed with creative, an editor, a testing pipeline — that menu is fine. You're buying ingredients for a kitchen you already run. Most brands asking "how much does one video cost" don't have the kitchen. They have a product and a hope.

The right unit is the creator-month

The fix isn't a better-negotiated video. It's changing what you buy. Instead of one video from one creator, put a few creators on starter retainers — $100–$800 a month each — where making content and posting it is the job, on their account or an ambassador account they run for your brand. Then bonus them on views: real money when a video hits 100k, serious money at 1M. The retainer keeps them going; the bonuses aim them at making something that actually travels.

That's the model in full, with the numbers: how much a UGC creator costs when you buy the month, not the video.
